Before a project becomes a Gantt chart it’s a pile of loose thoughts. A planning map gathers them in one place, and its branches later become your work breakdown structure: each leaf is a task small enough to assign.

How to fill it in

  1. Name the project and outcome in the centre.
  2. Add branches for goals, scope, tasks, people, risks and timeline.
  3. Break tasks down until each leaf is one person’s job.
  4. Export as Markdown and paste the task branch into your to-do tool.
