AI mind map generator

Give it a topic, or paste your notes, and get an editable mind map draft in seconds. Then make it yours in the editor.

Try:

Your topic or notes go to the AI model once and aren’t stored by us. AI can be wrong: check facts before you revise from it.

Your map will appear here, branch by branch, as it’s generated.

How to get a better AI mind map

  • Ask a question, not a word. “Why did the Roman Empire fall?” gets causes and evidence; “Rome” gets a travel guide.
  • Use your own notes when revising. The map sticks to what your course covered instead of what the internet thinks.
  • Grow it where it’s thin. In the editor, select any idea and press Suggest ideas to add AI sub-branches just there.
  • Then do the real work. Delete what you already know, rewrite labels in your own words, and add cross-links. That editing is what makes it memorable.

No AI? Paste an outline

If you already have structured notes (bullet points, headings, a Markdown file), the text to mind map converter turns them into a map instantly, in your browser, with nothing sent anywhere.

Questions people ask

Is the AI mind map generator free?

Yes, with a fair-use limit of a few generations per minute so the service stays free for everyone. No signup.

What happens to the text I paste?

It is sent once to the AI model to build your map and is not stored by MindMapFlow. The resulting map is saved only in your browser. Don’t paste anything confidential.

Can I edit the generated mind map?

Yes. Click “Open in editor” and everything is editable: rename, add, delete, drag branches, change the layout and theme, and export to PNG, SVG, PDF, Markdown or JSON.

Is the AI always right?

No. AI can produce plausible but wrong facts, especially on niche topics. Treat the map as a first draft and check it against your course materials. Building and correcting the map yourself is also where most of the learning happens.

Which AI model does it use?

A small, fast OpenAI model (gpt-6-luna) served through Vercel AI Gateway, instructed to output only mind map outlines.
