Book Summary Mind Map Template

A book summary map squeezes 300 pages into one screen. It works for fiction (plot, characters, themes) and non-fiction (big idea, supporting ideas, examples). Filling it in chapter by chapter also makes a surprisingly good revision sheet.

Blank template. Best for: Readers, book clubs and students writing reports on novels or non-fiction.

How to fill it in

  1. Put the title and author in the centre.
  2. Fill the fixed branches: big idea, structure, characters or key concepts.
  3. Add one memorable quote per theme with a page number.
  4. Finish with a "What I’ll do differently" branch; it’s the one you’ll remember.
