Keyboard shortcuts
MindMapFlow is built so you never need to leave the keyboard. Click the canvas once (or Tab into it), then:
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tab | Add a child idea to the selected one |
| Enter | Add a sibling idea (same level) |
| Any letter | Start typing to replace the selected idea’s text |
| F2 | Edit the selected idea (or double-click it) |
| Shift + Enter | Edit the selected idea; inside the text box, Shift+Enter adds a line break |
| Esc | Cancel editing, close a panel or cancel linking |
| ← ↑ → ↓ | Move the selection to the nearest idea in that direction |
| Alt + ↑ / ↓ | Move the selected idea up or down among its siblings |
| Space | Collapse or expand the selected branch |
| Delete | Delete the selected idea and its branch (or the selected link) |
| Ctrl/⌘ + Z | Undo |
| Ctrl/⌘ + Y | Redo (also Ctrl/⌘+Shift+Z) |
| Ctrl/⌘ + 0 | Fit the whole map on screen |
| Ctrl/⌘ + + / − | Zoom in or out |
| Ctrl/⌘ + S | Save now (maps also save automatically) |
A fast workflow
- Type the central idea, press Tab.
- Type the first branch, press Enter, type the next… Every Enter is a new sibling.
- Want to go deeper? Tab instead of Enter.
- Esc when you’re done typing, then arrows to jump to another branch.
On a touchscreen, tap an idea and use the buttons under the canvas instead; double-tap to edit.
