Double Bubble Map Template

A double bubble map compares two things. In the classic drawing, shared qualities sit between the two centres and unique qualities sit on the outside. Here it’s drawn as one comparison with three clear groups (only A, both, only B), so the similarities and differences can’t blur together.

Blank template. Best for: Students writing compare-and-contrast paragraphs; teachers using Thinking Maps.

How to fill it in

  1. Rename the centre “A vs B”.
  2. Fill “Both” first: what do they have in common?
  3. Then fill “Only A” and “Only B” with differences, ideally on the same features (size, diet, habitat).
  4. Turn each group into a paragraph: similarities, then differences.
